Trying to find a dr in waldorf md or surronding area who can treat child with bipolar disorder?

chrildren with bipolar where to go

if you have medical insurance, contact your insurance provider, and ask them to reffer you to a pediatric psychiatrist.
Look up psychiatrists in your Yellow Pages. Or try Yahoo Yellow Pages. There are several in or near Waldorf.

If you're sure it's bipolar disorder, you'll need a real psychiatrist (M.D.), because the child will need medication.

There's more information on children with bipolar disorder at http://www.bpkids.org/site/pageserver... and at http://bipolar.about.com/cs/kids_diag/a/... And at other sites as well. Google "bipolar children."
You may want to check into having your child see a neurologist first. This is an option other than the normal psychiatrist and drug solutions. Check out this website for more info:

I know they are in texas, but the idea makes sense and a neurologist near you might be able to help. Good luck.
My husband has been diagnosed Bi-Polar/ADD back and forth.
