Should I still try to help my ex-husband and his family accept that Zach has bipolar disorder, or let it go? |
After my ex-husband & I first met, he admitted to having seen a psychologist & was diagnosed with depression in the distant past. I wasn't thrown by that, for I know many with it & they do well. We dated, were engaged, & eventually married. Once we married I saw changes. He wasn't the same. He went from good to bad in a blink of an eye. It was a constant rollercoaster of emotions. When things were good, he was fantastic. When things were bad, he was very verbally abusive & even took it to a physical level. Out of the blue, after 7 months of marriage, he tells his dad to keep it a secret that he was going to divorce me. I contacted his ex fiance & she broke the news & truth to me that he had been diagnosed as being bipolar when they were together. He took himself off meds, cause he said they made him fat. I confronted him about it & urged him to seek help to save our marriage, he denied it saying I was trying to change him. He threw away our marriage because of denial. How do I deal? take this from someone who has had experience living with bipolar disorder in her family...me. Bipolar Disorder can cause very much pain in the family. My brother i s bipolar and he has caused some havoc in our family over the years. I found a web sight that might help you. Save yourself from a life of grief. Hey just because someone wants to be bipolar there is nothing wrong with that! I think the problem is with you, a persons sexual likes are there choice.
