Can a person with Bipolar 2 disorder enjoy sex? Any issues if he gets married? |
Can a person with bipolar disorder II enjoy sex? Any issues in him getting married? Also, will the medications becomes ineffective after a long period of use? Yes. Yes. Depends on the person. Getting married w/ a bipolar disorder is not a big deal.It is important to be aware that it runs along family lines, though. Realistically, who doesn't have some kind of negative something to pass to their kids? Heres what I think: Yes, bipolar people can enjoy sex. Hell, they can live just fine, especially with proper and up-to-date medication. I find it intresting that almost 1 in... 10? I believe? canadians have some sort of mental disorder, and almost all live perfectly normal lives. This goes the same for bipolar people. Jim Carrey, I believe, has bipolar, and so do some other celeraties (sp?). BUT! Do not just follow my advice - go to a therapist and/or a doctor. It depends. It is important to work with a physician who can help the person to find medication that works on the symptoms. Some medications can interfere with the sex drive or in males, cause erectile dysfunction. However, there are treatments that can help with these things. Marriage is fine. It is important for the partner to understand the nature of bipolar disorder. Like any other chronic condition, such as hypertension or diabetes, bipolar disorder requires good management at home and in the doctor's office. Continued therapy is important because medications can indeed become ineffective after time, requirement a change in dosage or a change to another medication. Yeah a person with Bipolar can get married and enjoy sex. But the bad thing about Bipolar is that if the person has a history of violence or anger that Bipolar can make the feelings much worst. I think you should be able to. Probably not. The disorder itself doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you enjoy sex, but the medication sure as hell does. I'm bipolar 1, and for a long time took Depecote, Prozac and some anti-psychotic I can't remember the name of. I wound up with the sex drive of a door knob. It took months to recover after the doctor changed me over to Lemictal and Welbutron, and dropped the anti-psychotic. There are no issues with getting married, except finding somebody who'll put up with a bipolar, There is, however, an issue with having children. Bipolar disorder is hereditary. I passed it on to my daughter. And, finally, yes, the medications become ineffective after time. What's more, you can not stop taking the stuff for a while and be sure it will work as well as it had when you start again. It's why the doctor switched me. It certainly wasn' because he gave a damn about my sex life. yes, persons WHO suffer from bipolar can enjoy sex.but he is in severe depression, he shows reluctance in participating inter course and if he is in hyper mania state, he likes his partner more sex. the medicines will not become ineffective after a long period of use. but they are to be taken as per the prescription of the doctor. any how it is always better to consult the psychiatrist, whether it is advisable to cohabit ate when the patient is in severe violent moods. |
