Do you actually enjoy having Bipolar Disorder? |
Thank you All very much for your interesting answers. My boyfriend has it and is really creative but can't let it out. He's an amazing artist and plays the piano beautifully but finds it hard to do these things and get motivated. He's more in touch with himself than anyone I know and he likes that part of it but the highs and lows are draining and it makes relationships very hard. Many people don't understand it but lots of people live with it like any other disorder or health problem. yeah it can be fun at times :) Hell no, but I think anyone who hits middle age with this disorder says the same. The highs are less frequent. They often are mixed with depression which can be considerably worse than a horrible depression. There is more depresssion. You know the meds are taking their toll on your organs. You know you've taken a lot of different meds and there are few if any left that will work if you can no longer take the ones you're on. You know what it is to be stable, want to always be stable, fear not being stable...... and dread the day when the pills no longer work and your left crazy until dead. It's a different perspective than when young. I once saw a document that Stephen Fry did (he is bipolar) and asked sufferers if they could choose whether to have or not have bipolar disorder what they would choose... only one person (out of about 5 i think) said she would choose not to have bipolar disorder. Almost, sometimes. Lately I'd give anything for it to go away, but I'm in a deep depression. A while ago, when I was more stable I said I wouldn't trade it, but now I can't recall why. I don't get many happy highs. I mostly get agitated and irritable. However, being bipolar has made me who I am and I used to think that was a good thing. dont be angry but you asked stupid question*no offense* No because I hate not knowing what mood I'm going to wake up in and what trouble I may get myself into. While the highs are great at the time, the lows are even worse than regular depression because the highs make the lows worse by comparison. No, when you just go on a low for no reason and you get soooooo depressed you wanna jump out a window its not great. Man that is a hell of a disorder. One of my ex-girlfriends has it. One minute she'd act abnormally happy like she was strung out on adderall then the next she'd be locking herself in the bathroom while crying and trying to slit her wrists with a razor. Yes, But mostly no. Its unbearable and people have no Idea what its like, at the same time its nice to know I'm the most creative person in the room. I Love The Highs, Hate The Lows. sometimes i really love it, but other times i get really low. Its pure and utter hell haha this is a funny question. well im unmedicated cuz i hate pills. I've got an excuse to be an overly hormonly inbalalnced yes, no, yes, no ,yes, no, umm maybe. no, i don't think anyone in their right mind would ever like being sad or angry for no reason at all. my neighbours husband has it and very distressing, for him and his family. Its not enjoyable at all. I am in two minds about your question. Yes when you are up. I don't have it Jack. Not my place to comment. |
