Can OCD/Bipolar disorder cause...?

...kleptomania?
Or is this yet another psych problem? My psychologist calls it ''risk-taking behaviour'' and doesn't relate it to the OCD/bipolar... but it seems too much like coincidence to me. Also, can one still be a kleptomaniac if unable to feel remorse?

Thanks.

Unfortunatly they can co-exist, they could be an independant issue (basically ocd) or it can be manifested because of the BiPolar, and or combination with OCD.

Unfortunately, its one iof the behaviours that can get people with mental health illness in trouble.

And yes kleptomania isnt about stealing things and feeling guilt. Its the need to obtain things, its more of an obsession (why its linked to OCD'ish behaviour)

Not feeling remorse is neither here nor there, but generally why would you feel remoprse about something you "need" to do.

You don't steal for the hell of it or for the thrill, you do it because your body is telling you to.

Not sure what else you really want to know as it can be as I said, on its own or a combination of the two, to have OCD and BiPol you are probably predisposed to having mental health problems and therefore it is more than likely its existant as well.

Best to try and get it resolved as unfortunately, as I said, its one of the things most likely to get you in trouble.

Kleptomania can be part of the bipolar. It may be the manic state in which you would have risk taking behaviour just because you are high while manic. People who are high in the manic state don't always feel remorse. I am glad you are seeing a psychologist and hope you are also see a psychiatrist for the proper meds to help you.

if you can't feel remorse then you are in the manic phase of your bipolar depression, make sure you are taking your medication right. anti depressants generally increase motivation but stop you from feeling too high or too low so you may seem indifferent towards sad issues but that's normal.

A few psychological and psychiatric problems can coincide, I would say that bi-polar can cause risk taking behaviour when manic, possibly. OCD deffinately not I would say. Your psychologist shouldn;t say these things as they are not supposed to deal with diagnoses so a psychiatrist maybe of more help. Good luck.

They are three separate problems.
