Doctors please help. Can a person with bipolar disorder also suffer from PTSD and ADD?

Hi, I attend a weekly support group for people with bipolar disorder, major depression, OCD, PTSD, etc. I don't know the statistics, but it is fairly common for people to have dual diagnoses.

My own nonprofessional opinion is to tackle the symptoms or illness that upset you the most. It may happen that if you are successfully treated for bipolar, the other symptoms may lessen.

Research shows that medication plus therapy is generally more effective than medication alone or therapy alone. So even if you are taking meds, I hope you are seeing a counselor as well. I wish you the best.

I am not a doctor, but I suffer from Bi-Polar disorder, PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I was diagnosed with these diseases at 17 so I know it is possible to have multiple disorders. I hope this helps you.

Yes they can, anyone can suffer from a mixture of mental health problems, depending on who they are, and their life experiences.
