Self Help with bipolar disorder? |
I have recently (1 year ago) been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I'm too scared to tell my family because they may think im a freak because there has never been any sort of mental disorders in my family. I was not given any sort of medication but was told that St Johns Wort might help because of its herbal functions. I have tried this but it only works for like an hour, this means that i go through about 4 pots a week. I have a fiancee who I have been with for 3 years and because of this disorder, we are always fighting and we have split up a a number of times but then we always get back together because we realize that we love each other. But im sick of arguing with him because I always feel like its my fault because of the disorder. because when in depressed i like to be on my own but i feel like hes smothering me when i know hes only trying to help because he cares. I really want to try and minimize the effects of the disorder and want to know if theres any self help or any better herbal methods i could use. Any help would be greatful. thanks (: A previous answer follows: See section 10, on bipolar disorder, at ezy build, below, and take the quiz, if unsure, and if the results are positive, ensure you get an expert diagnosis from a mental health professional, not doctors, who are much better dealing with physical ailments, and don't diagnose complex disorders like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder often enough to develop any real expertise. See a doctor and get on meds. If the bipolar is as mild s it sounds then you would only need a low dose to control it. Herbal remedies just do not work for true bipolar. Do it for your fiancee....... |
