Bipolar disorder ? |
How can it be proven that i have bipolar disorder without my doctor sending me away with another packet of prozac again !! The best resource I know is www.psycheducation.org, a site run by an Oregon psychiatrist and specialist in bipolar variants. In many states, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners can do the job for you. Here, our psychiatrists are booked months in advance but you can see a PMHNP within a few weeks. We are advanced practice RNs with Masters Degrees in Mental Health Nursing, and can prescribe as well as counsel. Professional diagnosis is imperative. Many family providers, simply don't have the time or expertise to diagnose bipolar disorder. It takes 8-13 years at last count, to get an accurate diagnosis. Don't wait. Early diagnosis changes your life. If you go to your doctor only when you are depressed, most will not think to 'dig deeper' for evidence of bipolarity. They just don't have the time. Hope this helps, and feel free to email me if you like Karen Source(s): PMHNP www.comfortyourheart.com i dont know.....but i've been worrying that maybe i have bipolar disorder...or atleast will have it in the future Go to a pyschiartist. If you don't want to be medicated then say so. Also do you have maniac episodes and does your mood change drasitcally constantly? Hmm good question...they do the same thing to me...not sure...good luck!!! There is no way. And if you think there is then you must be bipolar. It's not like you can walk up to the local RX and say gee I'd love some zani bars man they worked soo well for me. I am not going to see a doc or anything cause I know I am bipolar and I need them zani's man. Yeah I soooo see these being handed over to you. *rolls eyes* try the streets you may have better luck A psychiatrist can diagnose you, and provide medication to treat you. It is up to you to take the medication. |
