Planparenthood birth control pills?

so im going there for the first time this weekend to get birth control pills. do i need to bring anything? will they stick me with needles or examine me? does anyone know the process?

they'll just give you a prescription for the pills and ask you if you smoke etcetc

well it depends. how are you getting the birth control . what i mean is is your insurance paying for them or are you paying for them on your own. alos is this your first time going. they may do and exame. wich you should have one every year for health reasons. its called a papsmear and everysingle female has to get one so your not alone. you just lack back on the table put your feet up and look at the ceiling. also youll dicuss what method is right for you. your medical history and the medical history of your family . the history that you know. its import to tell them of n e medicla condition you have because that means you cant take certant birth controls. for example because of my types of migrains and medical history i have to take a progestrine based birthcontrol. also if your a person who can or cant remember to take a pill every day. but things you will need. your social security number insurance card if you have in surance perscription card. if you dont have insurance then you maybe able to recieve low cost or no cost care and birth control. this is done by your income. you fill out some forms. a doctor will bring you into a room and privately discuss everything with you. and planned parent hood is 100% confidential so if you live in a home like i did the wont call your house or send you mail is you tell them not to. they keep things very private. but you will need an emergency contact person. it just like going to you normal doctors office.

they will give you a pap smear (basically they swab your uterus with a Q-tip) and test for STD's and and other not normal things. The exam isn't "painful" but there are other things i would rather do. i don't think they will take blood though

Bring your medical history including a list of any meds and over the counter meds you're taking.
They'll ask about your sexual history and give you an exam. Then you'll get the prescription/pills.
They won't stick you with needles usually.

They will basically give you a questionnaire type thing.

It will ask you about your family history, like whether theres a history of high blood pressure or diabetes, or deep vein thrombosis.

It will also ask you if you've ever had any of the above.

They will also test your blood pressure whilst your there, they will also most likely weigh you and measure your height (they did when i was there).

They will also ask you if you smoke, if you do, just tell the truth. They will advise you be more careful and go to the doctor straight away if you have pain in your legs etc.

But other than that, they don't do much.

They definately won't give you an injection or anything :)
