Birth control pills causing mild depression and..?

I've been on Tri Sprintec(an Ortho Tri Cyclen generic) only since Sunday and I feel like I'm alwas feeling sad or down. My boyfriend even said this! I've been trying to figure out what could be wrong but there really isn't anything but the pills. I also workout 5 daysa week and can run 45 mins on the treadmill and be fine but yesterday, I was on for like 10 mins(not even) and was already feeling tired so I just power walked the rest instead. Also, I should mention that within the past month(before I started on the pill) I had to take the morning after pill(had no significant side effects though...and no I'm not pregnant). Is this normal ? Do the symptoms come on immediately? Which it seems like with me. Should I call my doc or pharmacist? Also, I was really bit ch y to my bf the other day and feel like I need to explain to him what's going on with the pill but is that lame?? I don't want to seem like I am wanting sympathy or being a baby about it. Thanks much.

Is it worth discussing that you feel that this particular pill isn't suitable, with your doctor?

Side-effects will affect everybody differently. Some will be affected after 2-3 days, others not at all, or after a few weeks.

If you were already tired before the treadmill, it is nothing to worry about that you cut short your training regime.

Mood swings can be caused by your hormones, and it may just be that this particular pill isnt suitable for you due to the different hormone levels in it. However, they can also be due to stress, which you sound like you are stressing or worried about this.

Talk to your doctor to give yourself peace of mind.

Being on birth control for less than a week shouldn't be affecting you this much this quickly. The hormones might just be hitting you particularly hard, but it's worth talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
BTW, Plan B (morning after pill) is just a higher dose of birth control pills...so if you didn't have these same feelings after Plan B, you should mention that to your dr or pharmacist as well.

well i don't know what to tell you, but to consult your doctor. i am having my own serious problem's with the actual tricyclin lo. i have been on my period for three weeks, had rashes, gum loss (they can apparently become sensitive when hormones change) and also extreme emotions that have caused me to lash out at my bf and friends. i took myself off the pill, maybe you should get a different one.
