I am taking birth control pills, can I still rely on my ''periods'' to tell whether im pregnant or not??

Me and my boyfriend have often had unprotected sex, (with me being on he pill), knowing there is always that 1% chance of getting pregnant I have always depended on getting my period to put me at ease every time, but now people are telling me that your periods arent real periods when on the pill...................so does this mean I can't actually rely on getting my periods to tell whether im pregnant or not???

How would it not be real periods? It's just regulated with a pill, that's why you take a different row for a week.

I've heard of people still spotting when pregnant, but if you get a normal heavy period, surely you aren't pregnant.

Yes. You won't have periods when you're pregnant.

My friend was on the pill for several months. She was late for her period because she was pregnant.

no
