Skipped two birth control pills? |
i have taken combination birth control for almost a year now. it's a long story, but i lost the FIRST two pills in the pack this month, so i just skipped them and started on tuesday with that pill (i'm a sunday start). take the skipped two right away and get back on track. then use condoms for the next week...AT LEAST. Usually if you've taken the pill for a while (and a year I think would constitute as a while) it will take you're body sometimes a month to kick the hormone completely out so you can become pregnant again. So I wouldn't worry too much but I would be cautious cause after all, you're taking a birth control pill for a reason-NO BABY! Good luck and try to stay on track a Little more careful next time. You should use a backup method of contraception for seven days. about a week, but if i were you i would wait two just to make sure. that way you know that you are protected and you don't have to worry about it. I would wait two to four weeks before having intercourse without a condom. Of course, the pill isn't 100% affective so I would be very careful and use condoms for about a month. Probably at least 7 days. The pages I read said that if you start two days late, double up on those pills (so take four over two days) and then use condoms for 14 days. they say a week or two, but to be safe and certain a month i think?? |
