Ovarian cysts...is taking birth control pills an effective treatment? |
I have read here that taking birth control pills can help dissolve ovarian cysts. (They hurt so bad!!!) Is it true? How often do I have to take them? Once a day? Sorry if my next question sounds supid...If I take birth control pills everyday, does that mean I cannot get pregnant? Is this 100 foolproof or is there still a minimum risk of pregnancy? If I start taking birth control pills today, does that mean it starts to take effect immediately? Yes- BC can help with ovarian cysts My friend has had this problem since the onset of puberty... She has been on the Depo Shot for years and years and it keeps the cysts and monthly pain away. ive never heard that birthcontrol gets rid of ovarian cysts, ask a doctor about that one. it is only 99.9% chance. birth control pills are like condoms. they don't always work. taking birth control pills are like taking regular medicines. and medicines/pills are not always affective. i know this because my friends dad is a docter. And yes taking medicines/pills is bad for you. you should not take a lot. I had ovarian cysts too, my doctor put me on birth control to control it. So yeah I think so. Since the cyst is caused by your body preparing fo rmenstration. If menstration is prevented, as birth control does, then no cyst need to grow to develop into an ovum. |
