For all the women who have gotten pregnant on birth control pills?

did u still have ur period on the inactive row or did your period stop? when did you find out you were pregnant on bc pills? did you have any symptoms? when did you take the pregnancy test?

In my case, I was 38 years old and had 3 children who were 17, 15, and 12 when I found out I was pregnant after reliably taking birth control pills for 11 years. I did not know I had conceived until I was at my doctor's for a regularly scheduled yearly physical. When she did my pelvic exam she seemed puzzled and said my cervix was doing something odd as it felt as though I were pregnant. We had a good chuckle over the absurdity of that idea but she sent me to pee in a cup for a pregnancy test just to rule it out. I was shocked and so was my doctor when the nurse brought back a positive result for pregnancy! Even she didn't believe it to be possible after so many years taking birth control pills. She said my cervix felt about 12 weeks along so if I was truly pregnant we should be able to hear a heartbeat. Neither of us thought it possible, but she brought the Doppler in. I laid there naked on the exam table with my mouth agape as did the surrounding doctor, the nurse, and I think by then I had drawn a crowd as we listened to that amazing sound of a tiny little hearbeat fill the room and into the corridor. I had been having periods so I had to have an ultrasound to determine gestation and was just speechless to find out I was 17 weeks along. I had taken my birth control pills every day of that pregnancy until the day I found out. Based on that timing, I had 2 periods that were normal in every way plus the one I had about 10 days before my doctor's appointment which was slightly lighter and shorter than normal. In my own personal case, I had no pregnancy symptoms at all. The only thing odd I had was every time I ate my stomach would hurt. Not nausea or vomiting, just pain. I developed some heartburn, which I had never had before. Several of my close friends and family members were quite concerned about my stomach pain, convinced I had cancer so even though my pregnancy came as a shock to everyone, it was a bit of relief to find that my stomach pain was not related to cancer. Just for the record, I had not taken any other medications that would have interferred with the efectiveness of the birth control pills nor had I missed any pills or had any vomiting or diarrhea. The only explanation my doctor had was that birth control pills do not claim to be 100% effective and I must just be the "lucky" 1% who gets pregnant on the pill even when taken as directed. The day we found out I was pregnant I stopped taking the pills and didn't have another period while pregnant. Oh, one last thing, after our little surprise joined our family, my husband went in and had a vasectomy done. We made sure to take his semen sample in twice at the recommended intervals to confirm no "little swimmers" were present, but we used a condom for a significantly longer period than was suggested, just to be sure!

No i did not have my period on the inactive row...but I was never regular anyways I played alot of sports so there would even be a month that I wouldnt have one at ALL. I took my BC pills religiously NEVER missed a pill and the only way i found out was I got sick EVERY single time I took one... So I took a test it popped positive and I went to the dr....I had no symptoms besides getting sock when I took my BC pills...I took my test like 2 or 3 days after getting sick from taking my BC pills and when I went to the dr. I was 5 weeks....By the way this didnt just happen once it happened TWICE...BC pills DONT WORK

i was on BC whilst pregnant with my oldest she was 5 months old when i found out i was pregnant that was my 1st missed period

so you can have a monthly, more commonly known as spotting during pregnancy and just because it comes at the right time every month is just pure coincedence so i'm told

I usually got my period on the 3rd day of inactive pills (I never actually took them). I did not get my period and just felt weird. I took an HPT on what would have been the 5th day of the inactive pills and it was a very clear positive.

mines stopped on the week off, i dont have the inactive sugar pills, just a week with no pills.

i waited till about 3-4 days into my next pack, still didnt bleed, and i tested then.

i just felt more tired than usual. no sickess etc.

i did not bleed during the inactive row, and tested positive the first day of the inactive row! my breasts were really tender and i was tired..wait exhausted!

my best friend got pregnant whilsy on bc and her periods stopped, that was her first and only sign until a week or so after. she was about 6 weeks along when she found out.
