How old do you have to be to start taking birth control pills?

do you have to be a certain age? can you only take it for a certain amount of time? is it true that if you take birth control consistantly for a long time then eventually your body will not be able to reproduce even if you stop taking them???

You can take BC pills any time, as long a you've started your period. You can be on it as long as you want and stop when you want. With BC, it releases a hormone that makes your body think you're already pregnant. As soon as you quit taking it, your body quits "thinking" its pregnant and you have a period within a month or so and you are now fertile again. Birth control does not sterilize you.

As soon as you start your period,a lot of teens take them to regulate their menstruation cycles when they are irregular.I've never heard of anyone not being able to conceive with birth control pills.Only of some friends who took them for more than 10 years and it took a little longer to conceive but it didn't make them infertile, besides there are new ones with low hormone dose, those are even safer.

you just have to have started your period to take them. you can take them as long as you want..no your body will not stop being able to reproduce. once you stop taking them, your body goes back to normal. :]
