Why do so many people use birth control pills?

ive seen a lot of questions about birth control and i was wondering y so many people use them? i mean what r benefits bad stuff, and yah. what r your experiences?

people use them for many reasons:
to prevent pregnancy
to control irregular periods
to control acne
to lighten heavy periods
if the woman has PCOS
to prevent 2 out of 3 periods for women with endometriosis to relieve pain and scarring
for women with low levels of female hormones
to balance PMS

pros - regular, lighter less painful periods
prevent pregnancy
can be used by coupkes where one partner is allergic to latex
control medical conditions
discrete

cons - increase in weight
increased risk of blood clot/stroke especially in smokers
doesnt protect against std's
headaches

People just hate using condoms, hate acne and hate heavy periods. I used Yas with a bad response so I started on the patch with no problem at all.

The benifits are lighter periods, less cramps, all that good stuff. There are risks of blood clots and other things such as headaches and nausea and spotting.

Ok, I'm on birth control to help with period pain and to prevent pregnancy.
They don't really help with the period pain anymore and they make me need to pee a lot when I have my period.
They don't make me gain weight, have skin problems or food cravings.

i got on birthcontrol to
-regulate and lighten my period
-"control birth"

it helped extremely with lighten my periods, and i get no cramps

Not everyone uses the birth control because they are sexually active, some use it for medical problems..

They use them so they dont have an unwanted pregnancy!

The benefits outweigh most of the cons!
