Is it possible to delay my period with birth control pills, even if I don't normally take them?

if my period is due in 7 days and I started the pill tomorrow, is it possible to make that period come a little later?

Thanks for your answers. I've called my doctor friend and he says that there is a pill that can delay my period. It's called Norethisterone. I'm going to get an rx tomorrow and give it a try. I'm going to Hawaii in a week to meet my lover and I haven't seen him for a month. I really don't want this runing all my fun. I hope it works.

Most girls starting on B/C have heavier periods and/or spotting through the first month or two...
When I first started B/C I got the patch, and my first period was HELL!
When I switched to the pill, I spotted (lightly) every so often for the first month and a half...
When I switched to Mirena (IUD) I spotted HEAVILY for 2 1/2 months!
I couldn't tell which were periods, and which were just spotting... Very Annoying...

I would suggest to just start when you are supposed to... if you start before your period starts it might just turn out to mess you up even more and would probably a bad experience....

I've been on three different birth controls, and no taking them does not delay your period. ususally you're supposed to start taking it the first day you get your period. the point of birth control is to regulate your period, but it takes about three months to do that so chances are if you start taking it for only seven days its not going to do much.
