I had unprotected sex the day I started my birth control pills.? |
What is the likely hood of getting pregnant that way? It's been eight days since then and I ave been feeling really nauseous. I'm wondering if it's because I am just anxious. I haven't been wanting to eat as much as I usually do and I've been pretty tired. I've been pregnant once before, but I was not on birth control. I don't know if I'm just worrying myself to death. I lost my last baby when he was two months old. I want another child, but I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for the worry that will come along with a newborn. I also don't feel it would be far to a child since I currently don't have health insurance. Please somebody help clear my mind. Did any of you get pregnant on birth control? The day I think it could have been would have been the day I stopped my period and the day I started my BC. I don't think that's an ovulation day, so do you think I'm in the clear? PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS!!! If this is the first time you have taken birth control pills then there is a chance that you could get pregnant. You are supposed to use a backup method for at least a week when you start the pill. But, the first day after your period is an unlikely day to get pregnant, and if you were pregnant, it is really too early too be feeling nauseous. That is probably just from nerves. The best thing to do is just keep taking the pills and if you don't get your period on time take a test. I'm confused. Was it the day you started birth control, as in you had not been on them before your last period? Or was it the first day of your new pack of pills? If you had not been on birth control before than you could be pregnant because they say it takes at least 1-2 months for your body to get used to the pill. thre is a process with birth control pills..and just because it is in your system does not mean it keeps you from pregnancy...you need to be taking the pillls for more than a month for it to actually be effective I did the same thing. I took my first two pills around 8am that day. Had sex that night, probably after 9pm. I was a little worried but I didn't have any complications at all. Did not become pregnant until this year when I purposely took myself off the pills to get pregnant. birth control is not effective on the first day you start taking it. it typically takes 2 weeks to reach full effectiveness, and even then it's not 100% effective! you could be nauseous from being anxious but i would wait a while and take a test! Birth control is not fully effective unless you have been taking it for 3 months. So there is a good chance you are pregnant. you have to be on BC for at least one week before you can have unprotected sex! It's possible. You usually have to take birth control for a few months before it is fully in your system. Even then, it is not full proof. I did get pregnant w/my oldest daughter on birth control and I took it everyday on time. I would wait until your next period is due. If you don't get it, take a test. Also, if you are very worried, get a doctor to test you sooner. It doesn't sound like you are ready for a baby so i hope you are not. good luck! Birth control takes a minimum of 3 weeks to be effective. If you had sex the first day of taking it, you very well might be pregnant. If you are pregnant, you can get free medical thru whatever state you live in, all states offer some program. Go to your OB/GYN and tell them what happened with your last child, and ask for a referral to a therapist. The state medical will cover it if the DR deems it necessary (explain the situation) I am sorry for your lost by the way, I can't even imagine that. You ovulate normally 2 weeks after the first day of your last period, somewhere around there, give or take a couple days depending on your cycle length. |
