Can you get pregnant on the 2nd day of starting birth control pills when you have unprotected sex?

I had unprotected sex multiple times, 2x *** in me - 3x on me (around my vagina, too) but I had just started my birth control pills a few days earlier.. I don't know when it starts actually working. and I had smoked a lot and it seems like when I smoke my birth control stops working coz I spot or get my period.
it was also the 13 or 14th day of my cycle - ovulation time.. but before I was on my period for about 2 weeks,

how likely is it that I'm pregnant?

it's not that I just started birth control all together, I got my period in the middle of my pack (i'm on seasonique - 3 month pack) and I got off of it for a week like my doctor told me to, then I was on it for 2 days since then.

yes..generally it takes birth control a week to a month to kick in
BUT
u can only get pregnant on ONE day of ur cycle
(people may try to argue this but if u do ur research u will find its true)
its 14 days after the FIRST day of ur period
so the day u start ur period count 14 days..circle that day..its ur ovulating day
soo..sperm can live for 72 hours...which mean that u dont wanna have unprotected sex the 12th, 13th and 14th day
so unless it was one of those days dont waste ut time with worry
=)

Well, I think it could be pretty likely. Ideally you are supposed to start birth control pills on the first day of your period. That way you get immediate contraceptive protection. If you start taking them on a normal day I think they need at least a couple of weeks to get into your system and start having an effect. You need to take a pregnancy test and come off the pill. If you are pregnant and carry on taking the pill it can harm your baby. Do some research on the pill before you start using it. You can't just swallow it then go and have sex and be protected

The birth control pill is effective immediately, you just have to be sure and take it exactly right, ie, no skipping nights (or whenever it is you take it). I should add that if you're on the pill, you really shouldn't be smoking, because you increase your risk of getting blot clots, which, you don't want.

Also, the spotting may not be due to your smoking, it's normal to spot when first starting the pill, for the first few months or so. It will eventually even out.

If you started the pills in mid-cycle you are supposed to use a back-up method for the first couple of weeks, since you can ovulate before the pills have a chance to work. So yes, you could definitely be pregnant.

(If you start on cycle day one [first day of your period] you are protected immediately.)

yes you can get pregnant the dr should have told you to use some kind of back up for the first month or 2. also you should continue to use a back up like a condom i got pregnant while i was on the pill and i was on it for 2 years and took that pill everyday at the same time i never missed a day not even by a minute

my dr told me and i just recently have a serious relationship for the first time so i am just now learning all of this too, that to take the pill he gave to me every day at the same exact time for 3 months before sex at all and then i am also going to use a condom and maybe spermicide too - pregnancy can happen so eaily its scares me to even think about sex and i am 34 LOL - but am in no way $$ or otherwise at all ready for a baby.. so it is something to have to worry about for sure even with a pill and a condom etc, someone said also to try to track down your fertile days online which i did and then not have sex on them either, even with a pill and condom just to be real safe..

It can take up to a month for the birth control pills to be effective so you are supposed to use additional birth control (condoms). There are also warnings that you shouldn't smoke while on birth control pills, it can cause some serious problems (blood clots and other things).

you can get pregnant on birth control pills especially if you are just starting on them I would wait to see if you miss your period then take a test. and for future reference when you just start on birth control pills use a condom. good luck to you.

yes you can get pregnant, you are usually advised to use a back up BC method until you have finished the first pack of pills as it takes time for them to become effective

Your doctor should have gone over this with you. It is very likely that if you have only taken 2 birth control pills, they have not had enough time to get into your system. Call your doctor.

Yes, you can.

I am sure whoever proscribed them for you would have told you how long you need to take your pills before you are protected.

Pretty likely -- the birth control pills don't take affect until after a month or two of use.
