Can taking birth control pills make your menstrual cycle come back.?

I havent had a period in like 6 to 7 months becuase i was on the birth control shot for a while. I am currently off all birth control and i want to start trying for a baby this summer in like 5 months. But i do not have a period and i know that you need your period to ovulate. So i just want to know if its a good idea to get on the pill to make your period come back and the get off it like a month before i start trying?

No, because when you're on the pill it's not a period, just a withdrawal bleed. Have they investigated hy your periods haven't returned? I have heard that it can take a long time after the injection though.

You might want to look into a herb called vitex agnus castus. I have pcos and I used it to get my cycle from 50 days down to 28 days. It helps balance the hormones and I'm pretty certain it's safe to use when ttc, although check up on this :) If you try it, get a good quality herb - tincture form is supposed to be good. People have excellent results on this as it induces ovulation.

Different birth control shots last for different amounts of time. Till the shot has fully dispersed no matter what you do, it is not going to help, since you can't supress what you put inside of you.

Better check with your gynecologist \ Obstetrician on your hormone levels, to when they stabilize.
