Are there adverse health effects from using birth control pills continuously to avoid having a period?

You need a period every now and again. Its pretty safe to keep it away for 3 mos or so, because there is that new birth control that only gives you a period every 3 months. But id probably ask the gyno before doing it

Yes, I heard that can have lasting affects. I suggest you discuss this with the doctor that prescribed the pills.
