How effective is birth control if I eat my pills late?

I've been eating my pills 2-3 hours late for a few days. I had unprotected sex few days ago.
I've never missed a day, or more than 6 hours.
I've been on birth control for 6 months.

I know the answer would be possible to get pregnant, but I wanted to know 1 in how many people do get pregnant just by eating pills a few hours late?

And also, since birth control prevents your body from releasing an egg, is it possible for it to release the day before your period (thus having a late period) if your pills weren't taken on time?

Everything should be fine. The highest risk is when you miss a pill completely. A few hours is not an issue unless your family has a history of getting pregnant from toilet seats and sharing toothbrushes.

It's not ideal, but in the 6 years I was on the pill, I never had any trouble if I forgot to take my pill and night and I just took it the next morning. Try setting an alarm on your phone for the time of day you take your pill, or start taking your pill at a time that is significant or easy to remember. For example, I would take mine every night at 9 because that's when free nights and weekends start. =)

very risky here. your suppose to taken to broth control pill same time everyday or its becomes ineffective and will not work. lets say your taking it around 7:20 AM and its 8:20 that's becomes risky

don't worry about it unless you are missing them. a couple hours late won't get you pregnant.
