Does going off birth control cause u to lose the weight u gained when u started the pill? Weight gain through the pill is actually not as common as rumor would lead you to believe. Out of all of my friends who are on the pill, only one of us gained any significant weight and she lost that when she switched to a new brand of pill... I lost 14lbs the first two months I was on the pill. some forms of birth control can cause you to have what is called water weight gain. but if you have gained a significant amount, like more than ten pounds it is probably a hormonal effect caused by increased estrogen levels given by the contraceptive. so this means that if you only gained like 5-10 lbs, then yeah you would lose that much of it. but if it were more than that, you might not. you might lose those first 5-10 lbs. nothing i could find said anything about whether or not you could actually lose the weight gained. everything just explained the reasons for the weight gain and loss while on the contraceptive. Only if it was caused by the increased hormone levels and not just your appetite! |

If you are going to take bc pills, you need to TAKE THEM. Try setting your phone to call and remind you or take them at bedtime, which seems the easiest to remember. I don't think you are do... You'll be fine. The chance would be higher, but it would still be really small. If you missed say 4 or 5 days of the pill, however, then you might have reason to be worried...but you didn'... if you are having a period, you don't need the day after pill, and if you are taking birth control pills you really don't need the day after pill. It is intended for emergency use only, ... I'm not sure why you would throw the pill away, but anyway...just tell you're mom you're pregnant. There is no way to avoid that conversation.
