How many people have had their birth control pill fail? |
How many people have had their birth control pill fail? Birth control pills are 85% affective. That means you have a 15% chance of getting pregnant even if you don't miss any. I have answered a question like this before, and i got sooo much crap for my answer. So I'm going to tell you what my answer was and then re phrase it. I said that I dont buy that crap about peoples birth control failing...I thought it was a copout to get pregnant. BUT however, I have changed my views. I think that a lot of YOUNGER girls do that in order to get pregnant...Meaning they dont take their bc and tell their man they were on it the entire time. But I do know that it happens and often. It has never happened with me, but I know of people who have had their birth control fail. I heard of some people having an IUD and that failing as well... Well, I used it for eight years and had no incident whatsoever. But it does happen! In fact, my husband is a product of failed birth control pills. I'm pretty happy about that accident actually. It's always a good idea to use a backup method just in case. (raises hand) I have 6 children and 1 on the way. My oldest and my 16 month old I was on the pill and became pregnant. The first time I missed 3 pills, the second time I was on antibotics. I am now 15 weeks pregnant and I have a Mirena IUD that claims to be 99.99% effective...yeah right! I was on birthcontrol andddddd used condoms and they both failed. I know they will fail if you take antibiotics so you should use extra protection if you do. pills are 99% effective IF taken exactly as instructed with no mistakes and not forgetting any. I was married for 6 years before I got pregnant and I WAS on "the pill" at the time.... I have had four friends that have gotten pregnant in the past year all on birth control pills. Thousands and Thousands every year. YESSSS ! i am now 5 months pregnant with a big surpriseee |
