Skipping your period with birth control pills?

I'm going on vacation and wanted to skip my period by not taking the placebos and going straight into my next pack. I've heard from many people this method is safe and effective.

Yesterday I started my new pack skipping over the placebos. Although I did not get my period, I feel really bloated like when I normally get my period. I was wondering if this bloating is going to last the entire month now until I get my next period?

Has anyone had similar experiences, please help:)

The bloating should not last the entire month; I would expect it to last only a couple of days.

However, I will warn you that some women have problems (ie. a bit of bleeding) when they try to skip their period for the first time. Hopefully you will be fine, and, even if you bleed a little bit, it will be very light (ie. only see blood when you wipe) and so still preferable to having your period.

The more often you skip your period like this, the more reliable it will become (ie. with time, you won't have any bleeding at all).

It is safe to skip the sugar pills to miss a period occasionally and there are brands that allow only one period every three months on the market. You may be bloated for another reason and I wouldn't worry about it continuing for the entire month. There is also a chance that you will experience some spotting during the month.

best wiishes..
