Is the birth control pill unhealthy? |
I have been on it for many years and am worried.. After all it is unnatural. What do you think? Thanks. It's unhealthy to go messing with nature. I have taken the pill. For a total of about 3 months. Now that I know more and am more established in my beliefs, I'm glad I never found one that worked for me. Anyway, why wouldn't you want children? I mean, reproduction IS the main purpose of intercourse, and if you're gonna have s*x, face the consequences. Of course, if you see children as a "consequence" then you don't need to be having s*x anyway. Take the blessings God gives you. Why do we refuse blessings? Doesn't make sense. FYI, I am 25 and married with three beautiful children ages 8, 6, and 4. And I welcome any more that God sees fit to give us! Just be yourself! Don't have to care about those things. any kind of meds are unhealthy.... No, it is perfectly safe. Although unnatural, it mimics your bodies' NATURAL hormones, and prevents pregnancy. There are risks associated with hormonal birth control that every woman should be aware of, and it also has many benefits. Found this information below on the website listed as my source. Oral Contraceptives 鈥?Also called 鈥渢he pill,鈥?contains the hormones estrogen and progestin and is available in different hormone dosages. A pill is taken daily to block the release of eggs from the ovaries. Oral contraceptives lighten the flow of your period and can reduce the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ovarian cancer, benign ovarian cysts, endometrial cancer, and iron deficiency anemia. It does not protect against STDs or HIV. The pill may add to your risk of heart disease, including high blood pressure, blood clots, and blockage of the arteries, especially if you smoke. If you are over age 35 and smoke, or have a history of blood clots or breast, liver, or endometrial cancer, your doctor may advise you not to take the pill. The pill is 95 to 99.9% effective at preventing pregnancy. Some antibiotics may reduce the effectiveness of the pill in some women. Talk to your doctor or nurse about a back-up method of birth control if she or he prescribes antibiotics. http://www.4woman.gov/faq/birthcont.htm... It significantly increases your risk for deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the legs that can be fatal). Your doctor should be clearly explaining this and other risks to you. Make an appt. and get your questions answered. (If your doc doesn't have time to answer all your questions, then you need to find another doctor!) Best wishes and good luck! weight gain, blood pressure problems, heart problems, smoking increases the risks. Iv been on the pill for yrs also and i smoke, the only problem iv had is a slight increase in blood pressure. If ur really worried speak to ur doc |
