Okay so I haven't been using it very long and I recently developed a rash on my neck. It really itches and some days it is worse than others. I've gone to a doctor and they gave me some medication for it but it isn't going away...I'm guessing that it has something to do with a reaction to the birth control pill cause I wasn't taking anything else at the time. Has anyone heard of a rash as a side effect of taking Aviane?
I'm a pharmacy technician and I don't remember a rash or itchiness being a side effect of aviane. In some people it can either help clear up acne or make it worse, but I think thats because of the hormones. Rashes are way more common then most people think. If there just reddened itchy skin and not all oozy or crusty they are usually just contact dermatitis and alot of people don't ever figure out what caused them and they go away on there own. Hives can sometimes be a sign of an allergic reaction but if you already saw your doctor you probably don't have to worry about that. I'm not a dr. so this is just my opinion! If I were you I'd give the medication from the dr. a chance to work, I'd also avoid any kind of perfumes or lotions in the rash area and if it doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks go to a dermatologist. |
