Is a birth control pill "today" is safe? i mean to take the very next day after having sex.?

Safety is not always what it's cracked up to be. In other words, it's safe to take, but it's also a pretty safe bet that you'll get pregnant.

Yes it is safe. Will it work? No. You need to use it on a regular basis based on your menstrual cycle. Maybe you are thinking about the "morning after pill". which is available in some states over the counter but it should be a last result and you should go with other methods primarily.
if you have been taking the pill regularly for 2 weeks you should be safe when partaking in intercourse... but if you just start taking the pill the day after you had intercourse and didn't use a backup you might want to invest in plan b... the day after pill... if you go to a college health center it should cost around $15 or you could go to Walmart or another pharmacy.
