How did the birth control pill change the lives of women in the 60's?
Untill the Pill, the only surefire birth controll was abstinence (husbands didn't like that choice)or condoms(husbands weren't crazy about that one either) so wives/girlfriends tried all kinds of things like running to the bathroom to douche A.S.A.P.(we hoped that would work) withdrawal(husbands really hated that one & so did their wives). Nobody really liked the diphragm as it really destryed spontenaity. Abortions were very illegal except to save the life of the Mom & very dangerous because they were often performed by untrained people in unsanitary conditions. So you can see why the pill was such a godsend.well you can choose your period, you can get stoned off your *** have wild hippie sex and NOT get pregnant
and just so you wouldnt have to deal with that **** unless you REALLY wanted to you can CHOOSE when you want stuff to happen
