3 day period birth control pill?

i forget what it is called but can that be healthy? won't that screw up your chances of conceiving later in life even more than the regular pills?

Short periods -- if they've always been this way for you -- are perfectly normal.

Most women on the pill only have very light periods and then only lasting for 2-5 days on average.

The reason being that your body isn't ovulating (releasing an egg) while on BCPs, so the lining of your uterus isn't getting thick to receive a fertilized egg for implantation.

Women today are much less likely to suffer ovarian and uterine cancers and cysts, BECAUSE of BCPs and fewer ovulation cycles than women of even 30 years ago.

Also, there are pills now (Seasonale) that create only 4 periods a year. And the shot (while it can lead to bone density issues), also can stop your period entirely, along with a chemical in some IUDs.

So a short, light period is perfectly fine and will not in any way effect your future fertility.
It is perfectly safe to not have a period at all. Most female ob/gyns take the b/c pill continuously to not have a period. Actually women today have more periods than they're ancestors did because they spend way less time being pregnant and breast feeding.
