I not too long ago (6 wks) had a cyst removed from my ovary so my doc put me on Seasonale for the polycystic ovaries and as a birth control method. My question is i am on my 6th pill today and i had sex last night and condom broke. I know that you ovulate on/around your 14th day of cycle and sperm can live up to 5 days inside your uterus. Today is my 12th day of my cycle.....is pregnancy possible considering all this? if this is not informative enough i will answer your questions to help with your answer to mine.
No birth control is 100% effective, even when used properly. You can still get pregnant on birth control pills, especially since you're body would still be adjusting to the use of the medication and your secondary form of contraception failed. The good news to this is that there is a relatively short window for conception to actually occur so you may have dodged the bullet. If you're seriously concerned, there's the "morning after" pill you can get from your physician. You should also address further concerns with your doctor for you own peace of mind. It could be possible, i was on Seasonal and i think it's effective after one week, so i'd get a test when you should get your period just to be sure. Also while i was on it i beld for 2 months straight!! I couldn't handle it so i had to quit taking it, but hopefully you won't have that problem but i just wanted to give you a head's up.
