Missed several days of birth control pill...? |
I missed about 5 of my pills at the beginining of the pack. I haven't even started the pack yet. I just kind of figured I would wait till I get my next period and start it at the end of that, and just miss a month of taking the pills... I'm not sexually active so I'm assuming this won't be a big problem? If anyone has any advice on if this is a good idea or if I should start taking it sooner than my next period or what? Thanks! I just went through the same thing myself. I don't know what brand of Birth Control Pills you're on, but I'm taking Marvelon, and it says if you miss 4 or more pills, to start a fresh pack immediately. If you're not sexually active, you don't have to worry about getting pregnant. If you don't take this month's pills, your period might be late, when you take the Pill, you don't ovulate, you have a "false" period, so if you stop taking it now, it might mess up your body's cycle, but as long as pregnancy isn't an issue, it's not dangerous. I hope this help you. Wait for your period. And use a condom if you become sexually active. A keep doing so till you have taken the pill for a month. Remember to take the pill at the same time each day to make them effective. You can use your cell phone alarm or the computer alarm or just your morning clock alarm to help remind you. Doula Mayo health Clinic ref Read the pamphlet that came with your pack, or talk to the doctor who prescribed them, or talk to the pharmacist. Different pill packs have different requirements. What brand are you on? The doctor should have told you when to start your pills. |
