How do you know that your birth control pill is working? |
I started the pill two weeks ago and I don't have any side effects or anything. I know this is a good thing, but it also makes me nervous that it's not working. I intend to use condoms as an extra precaution, but I don't trust condoms by themselves, so I want to make sure that my pill is actually doing something. Do I just have to run on blind faith? yes basically you will have to run on blind faith. One of the side effects of birth control pills is you should havef an easier period (if you typically had a bad one) and it should be VERY regular. But you will only notice these if you had problems. My wife is very regular, every 28 days like clockwork. So if she went on birth control obviously we would see no difference. If you were not regular, you should see it becoming regular that might help give you faith. Unfortunately even that will take several months to see. Just make sure that every doctor who prescribes you medication while you are in the pill knows about it! Some medication can cause the pill to become... inactive.. my first wife got pregnant this way. Well, if you aren't pregnant, you know it is working. Yes, you have to run on faith and history of the medication. My wife has been on birth control for 6 years and no babies yet, though I try as much as I can. Yes, and condoms are better than the pill anyway, so being extra cautious is good :) I have had no side effcts to the pill and the way i knew it was working is because I would not get pregnant Blind faith and common sense. You're body won't be completely adjusted to b/c pills for a month, so be extra careful right now. After the first month, AS LONG AS YOU TAKE THE PILLS EVERYDAY, they should work correctly. But remember, nothing is fool proof and they don't protect against STD's, so make sure you use a condom as well. If you don't get pregnant ;p If you are using safety precautions, you have nothing to worry about. I am too on birth control pills. I worry about the same problem too. You just have to have the faith that it is working. It is hard to believe, but that is true. And if you have taken it properly, I really won't really worry about it. |
