How long does breakthrough bleeding last when on the birth control pill? |
I've just started the pill for the first time and I've finished the first pack. I began the pack the day my period started. After I took the 21st pill I began to bleed, but I've now been bleeding for 11 days. It's about the same flow as a medium mentstral flow, some days lighter than others. Is this normal? Many women experience this when they first start the pill. In order for your body to fully adjust, it may happen for the first three months or so. If it's still happening after you finish your third cycle, call you doctor and ask to be switched to a different pill. They make many different kinds, and sometimes it takes a couple of tries to make sure you've got the perfect one with the fewest side effects. Hope this helps! Best of luck! |
