I expected some changes when I got off of my birth control pill but one of them is very strange...? |
My hair is falling out! I expected my periods to get heavier and last longer and to experience PMS again but not for my hair to be falling out! It's not like balding or anything but I am losing alot more than normal, like after I had my daughter. Is this normal? I am not sure it is normal. It could be a change in hormones but it could be more then that. My cousin had this problem and she ended up with poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, otherwise known as pcos. I would call your gynecologist and find out if it is a normal side effect of stopping the pill. yes they are part of the side affects you need to get a lower dosage that might be to stronge for you stop taking the other one... consult your doctor... stop taking those pills for a month... let them be digested properly... take them again once youre hair is back and it has been a month... but you can still have sex...respectively...(no need to e-mail me) Actually that happened to me when I went off of birth control to get pg. I have one child as well, and it was just like it was after I had my son like you said. I tried for 1 year to get pregnant and nothing happened, my periods were very off as well. My son was concieved right after going off birth control the first time, this time we actually waited a couple of months to start trying. Anyway, I finally found a doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrom). There are many different symptoms and not all people have the same ones but one of the symptoms is your hair falling out like that. Also, the doctor told me that I probably got pregnant the first time because I tried right after I got off the pill so they had me ovulating. This time I waited a few months and without the pill to regulate me I stopped ovulating. PCOS sufferers often develop insulin resistance which in turn can make you gain unexplained weight, which I have done since I went off the pill. I had to see a reproductive endocrinologist to get diagnosed properly as most doctors do not have an in depth understanding of this. Other than that I don't know why you could be lossing your hair at an alarming rate. Just make sure that if you have any more problems after this with concieving or any other symptoms that seem to be unrelated consider it and look up info online. Good luck to you. |
