Can anyone tell me any useful facts about Yaz the birth control pill? |
I've just been prescribed it and will begin taking it when I begin my next period. I just found out that it has only just recently been approved by the FDA. I would like to know things such as if it is a low dose or regular dose pill and does it regulate periods normally. I'd really appreciate all the information I can get. Thanks in advance. 10 points available also! Yaz is not very different than Yasmin except that Yaz is marketted to make your period shorter. Almost all contraceptive these days is 'low dose' but, the effectiveness is 99%. It should regulate your period within the next 3 or so months. You might experience break through bleeding when first starting the pill (bleeding while taking active pills) but, it's nothing to worry about in the beginning. If it doesn't work to regulate your bleeding after 3 months, talk to your doctor. For more information read your pill pamplet. EDIT: you may also miss your first period or find that it is a lot lighter than usual. Missing a period is common on birth control. If you miss two periods in a row, call your doctor even if you are not sexually active. Also, the pill tends to make periods lighter so you might find that as your period becomes more regular on the pill it is also lighter and free of cramps. Totally normal! OK, well I have been on it for about 9 months, its great for proventing against pg. trial it for atleast 6 months for the first 3 months you may start to notice some side effects. everyone i know who uses it has had mixed results, but its great for stoppping achne, for some it will cause weight loss and some it won't and you may experience weight gain. I had very irregular periods, once i started yaz it kept it all under control, i think its a matter of trial and error because everyones bodies are different and everyone gets mixed results, check out the yasmin website you might find some more useful info on that. www.yasmin.com I just started using Yazmine for the first time after using Desogen for six years. The doctor said that as studies progress, doctors are finding that BC pills need smaller doses than previously thought. |
