Is it true that if you take a pregancy test while on birth control(pill) it will always be pos.?

I had unprotected sex 3 weeks after starting the pill. Some people say wait a month but the booklet said if I start taking the pills the first day of my period I do NOT need a backup method. I've been on it for a month and a few days and I got my period when I took the green pills that start it. However I'm wondering if I am pregnant .

No- a pregnancy test is not affected by the pill. When started within 6 days of the start of a period, the pill is effective immediately. If the Pill is started at other times, it will be effective after one month. It usually takes 2-3 months for your cycles to become regulated, so period abnormalities and spotting are possible. When taken every day, the pill is up to 99% effective in preventing pregnancy, so though a very low chance it is still possible. If your period does not regulate itself in 3 months time, you will need to go back to your doctor as it's possible either pregnancy has occurred or you need a different dosage of the pill. Pregnancy tests only measure the levels of HCG, a special hormone that occurs in the body ONLY when a woman is pregnant..birth control will have no effect on your pregnancy test result whatsoever...

No, it should be the opposite
You should really take a home pregnancy test. If it's positive, then take yourself to your local doctors or sexual health clinic ( If in South Aus - Go to SHine). You can take another confirmation one there and they can advise you on proper use of birth control.
