Is there something I can do to decrease my period cramping other than birth control pill? |
Im 21 and I've been on birth control for 6 years. I hate taking it but I know if I go off of it then my HORRIBLE cramps and backaches and all that jazz is gonna come back. I've tried it before. If I go to the gyno is there anything they can do like a procedure or anything to make my cramps go away? I can't stand them! I have the same problem and I actually went off birth control pills and went on another form of birth control and my periods came back. I had horrible cramps and taking pain killers don't help whatsoever nor did the heat pack help. I would wake up at 3am in pain crying. I actually don't know if there is procedure a doctor can do to reduce pain killers you might want to talk to your gynecologist about if there is a procedure available, which I kidn of doubt.. They might have something you can take to reduce the pain. Personally I just went on the Mirena IUD hoping that it would help me. Good Luck. stop taking the pill and put a heat pack on it when it hurts. yes...when you know you're going to get your period...like the night before take ibuprofen..and then take it again when you get it..good luck Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) works wonders on cramps. I just wish it had been invented years ago when I really needed it. You can take them every six hours for a few days unless you have an allergy, have bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, or take any blood thinners. RN I used to give my GF light massage to the abdomen area to ease them. Take painkillers. |
