Should you be really specific about the time of day you take your birth control pill? |
I have a friend that thinks it is O.K. as long as you take it within the hour of each one. My sister-in-law freaks out if she misses hers by 5 min or so. I just got married a few months ago, and am not ready for kids right now. I was just wondering how specific you had to be with the pill. Yes it has to be taken around the same time each day; especially to prevent breakthough bledding and to have regular periods. The more exact you are in taking the pill at the same time the better chances you have of not getting pregnant. (I would put an alarm on my cell phone to remind me that it was time to take the pill). no it don't matter as long as you take them once a day--any other questions go to webmd.com You should ideally take it within the same hour everyday, like 5-6 or whatever every day. If you decide that you want to take it at say 9pm, then it will be safe to take anytime between 8:30 and 9:30. However, if you forget to take it until 11:00, I would still take it. you are suppost to take it at the same time everyday. Ex. you take the pill at 5pm then everyday you should take it at 5pm But i dont see how anyone could forget to take the pill....just pack around a picture of a screaming baby--that will remind you to take it. if you think you are going to forget than get on the birth control shot my doctor As long as you take it around the same time every day you will be fine. |
