Can i skip the green pills in the Alesse birth control package and just start another pack right away? |
I'm on the birth control pills Alesse and I'm going to visit my boyfriend soon but I don't want to be on my period. My friend recommended that I just skip the green "sugar, non-hormone" pills and just start another pack of Alesse. Is there any harm in doing this? It would be ok to skip to placebo (green) pills and start a new pack. Some women do this anyway and only have a period every 3 months. It's called tri-cycling. There is a BC pill on the market called Seasonale that is packaged this was ( has 3 months worth of active pills with 1 week of placebo or sugar pills - you may want to ask you doctor about this next time you go.) Source(s): I am a Nurse Practitioner. I tried that once with bad results. My period started again and lasted 2 weeks. others said that its ok. but don't do that for more than 3 packs consecutively, it will make the lining of your uterus thick, and may have some clots when you have your next withrawal period. NO .... U dont have to take those pills a.k.a sugar pills but you need to have your period dont mess with your body like that....If you arent keeping up with your birth control or forget to take it then what is the first thing u do in the morning go pee but it right there so u will take them.... You are not supposed to have but a certain amount of hormones and if you skip the "sugar" pill, you will get too much hormones. You do not want that to happen! :) you can do this yes, the green pills are just sugar pills, but it is not recommended it could seriously mess up your system if you do this continuously. i would not recommend it all the time, but i have had friends do this occasionally. i am on the pill, but have never skipped the green. |
