I was on the pill for for 12 years and after I went off it I was able ti get pregnant the second month.

The hormone(s) in BCPs are not male hormones, they are female, progesterone and estrogen. They keep you from ovulating, because progesterone is a pregnancy hormone.

BCPs are very safe and can be taken for a long period of time without affecting your fertility. They also can prevent types of ovarian cysts/cancer, breast cancer, reduce cramps, produce a lighter flow, and can help with iron loss (anemia).
