How come everyone thinks the pill[birth control] is used only for sex?? |
I have asked questions, and saw questions, about the pill. Most people anwser with "absitinice" or "the pill makes you gain weight" or "use the pill and condoms". The pill is used for several reasons, not just to prevent pregnacy. Its used to regulate your period, make your cramps go away ect. That's why i take them. How come everyone thinks the pill is used only for sex?? Is it just because they do not have the facts of what the pill or shot does?? It's because the most common use is to prevent pregnancy... People may not be aware of the other reasons why a woman would be using the pill... You answered your own question "because they do not have the facts of what the pill or shot does" They ASSume they know the reason it is needed, without knowing the facts. the pill can also be used to help control complexion problems. people just make assumptions based on what society is like today that is the exact reason. because they dont know. the pill and the patch help cramps and make your cycle regular. [[i wont speak on the shot because I DONT KNOW..]] but,, people asume things and compare you to society. dont worry about it because most people who only say that dont know. some pills do various things depending on its claim...but the main purpose is to prevent pregnancies Maybe it just has to do with your age group of people or possibly the people you know are not as mature and up to the facts as you are-sometimes you just have to excuse other peoples ignorance! Take care! Well, the most common use for bcp's is to prevent pregnancy, it was only later that the pill would start being used for other things as well. I'm on Yaz birth control, but not for bc purposes. I had the Essure method of bc implemented in 12/04, it's a less invasive procedure than a tubal ligation. So, I don't need to use the pill... for birth control, that is. I'm on it to treat my severe case of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). I was dx'd with PMDD 4 years ago, it is a debilitating, excruciating form of PMS times a million. I was on many different antidepressants for severe PPD (postpartum depression); however, NONE of those meds remotely helped with the PMDD. I started the Yaz back in October and it has truly saved my life... literally. I'm no longer on antidepressants! |
