Birth Control - coil, cap or pill ?

Hi,

What is the best route to take and which offer best result vs health issues. Any experiences with the Marina Coil would be good to know about.

Thansk for you r help & advice.

out of the three the cap has no side effects but does not provide as high a level of protection against pregnancy. it takes a bit of getting used to and the shape doesn't suite every woman's anatomy (personal experience!) the pill is almost completely effective in preventing pregnancy and is relatively safe but can also increase the risk of DVT and osteoporosis in later life. it is not a suitable form of contraception for those who are getting a bit older. the coil (bless it) provides effective contraception over a long term. it only needs to be changed every 5 years or so and once it's in you don't need to think about it. it can take a couple fo months for the initial bleeding to settle down and you need to be patient with it. it can also cause heavier periods but depends on the woman. most doctors recommend the mirena coil which also has a hormone component which can alleviate this side effect. with me it made me bleed more so a normal copper coil was more appropriate. oh and remember...STDs. be aware. hope this is helpful Source(s): experience
Try the Depo injection... the best ever... and it stops those painful periods too... RESULT... sex all year.... yipee

To Leigha.... hope you have crap sex your whole life... what a bore you are... too uptight... loosen up an try having an orgasm... you never know you might enjoy it...

Oh and don't moralise on me you sad cow... where do you stand on drugs, alcohol, poverty, smoking, the franchise, immigration, war, inflation etc...

Be a little lighter sweetheart.
i have to agree with the injection but its not a long term solution. I had to come off it after 3 years as there was a chance I could develop brittle bone disease in later life. The manufactures were unsure of the long term effects as its not been around that long. Im on Cerazette where I get a 6 month prescription and take the pill every day and dont have any periods either.
try the nuvaring...
None of the above! Modern Natural Family Planning is as effective as taking the pill (i.e. 99%) and has no side effects. It is also immediately reversible when you do decide to have children.

NFP is also very simple to learn and it works in harmony with your body's natural phases of fertility and infertility.

The Couple to Couple League have an excellent home study course you can take. I highly recommend it!
