What are the chances of getting pregnant when only consuming the 3rd pill on a fresh new birth control pack?

I've been on Birth Control for about 5 months now. Recently, I just started a fresh new pack of birth control pills. I've recently consumed 3 on their exact, designated times. ALSO, I was recently intimate during this first new pill week and using a condom at the same time. My question is, is the Pill effective after consuming 2 (or even 3) pills? Am I still protected?
- Thanks a millsion :)

The birth control I take is called: Estrostep. It contains 28 pills.

You took the first 3 pills of the pack on 3 consecutive days at the correct time? As long as you are taking your pills consistently like that and aren't missing any pills, you should be protected. Just because you're at the beginning of the pack doesn't make it less effective. Also, because you used a condom, your chances of being pregnant are very, very small. Source(s): Personal experience
Birth control pills prevent pregnancy primarily by preventing ovulation. This is accomplished by administering hormones over a long ammount of time. Just as it takes a certain period of time of taking the pill before a pregnancy will be effectively prevented, the pills you have just taken have very little to do with how well the birth control is working right now.

In other words, a single birth control pill does virtually nothing to you. It is only the prolonged injestion of them that will prevent pregnancy. Therefore, so long as you were taking pills in the correct cycle right up until starting this new pack, you should be fine.
