Is taking birth control pills a safe form of contraseptive?? aside from abstinence? |
>>can you give me some examples of birth control pills or patches that you use and do you think they're safe?? thanks! Birth control pills are a lot safer form of a contraseptive as long as you follow the direction, and take them when you are suppose to. Types of birth control I have used are ortho tricycle and they gave me really bad yeast infections but most girls do not have any problems with it. I have gone a on the shot (deprovera) i really do not recommend this one because I was on period for 9 months straight before I went off it. The doctor told me it would go away but it never did. Now I am on the Nuvaring which is a ring you stick in you like a tampon and i have to change it every three weeks. My partner likes it too because he says he can not feel it, (neither can I). I like it because this is a form of birth control you do not have to think about taking everyday at the exact same time. In my opinion it is the best type of birth control there is. Probably one of the safest. I use Yasmin ... it never gave me any problems/side affects at all. Although, I should warn you that I got pregnant while on it (but rest assured, I might have done something to negate it's affect or not taken it exactly as directed and that's why I got preggo - I would never blame the medication, b/c there could have been other forms of protection as well (like condoms as a back-up), so don't let that scare you!) Also my best friend uses Nuva Ring and it's worked pretty well for her - although when she's having sex with her bf, it tends to pop out in between strokes (gets caught on his penis) ... something you might want to think about... Good luck! p.s. you can get a pamphlet of comparisons from your gyno of what is offered for contraceptives, and what each one is supposed to do and what the side affects are. 21 weeks pregnant with a boy (Gabriel)! Yay! I've been using ortho-tri-cyclen for 10yrs, except for when I had my son, and haven't had any issues. Make sure to still use a condom, you can still get STD's. |
