What would happen if i were to take my birth control pill twice in one day( accidently)? |
i just finished looking at my pack and accordit to IT, it looks like i already took the one for today- but dont take it untill 9pm, and it's only noon! another senario- what if i were to have lost it- now i'd be missing a day? would that drastically affect my cycle? i know i'll have to use condoms for a while-but i need to know what's going on in my body if i DID take it twice in one day Today's birth control pills have less hormones than those of a decade or so ago. No real problems with a single double-dosing. You're just short a day. The extra amount won't have any real effects, you'll metabolize it. Missing a day is another issue entirely. It will compromise your coverage, so you need to use other protections until your next period. If you do not follow the schedule then they will not be affective. you might get nausiated and feel kinda sick but it doesnt drastically affect your body just you will have to use a condom IDK. I havent had any experience with birth control but I think you'll be fine. You should call your doc just to make sure. I mean think of how common ur senario is and you dont hear of overdose of Birth Control well if you miss a day they tell you to take both in one day so its not going to affect you other than having to use backup contraception for awhile. in either scenario you're fine. its not going to make any changes in your cycle or anything. Basically, you would just start your new pack a day early since one is "missing". Use a back-up method for a week or so and you should be fine. Just keep taking your pills one the regular schedule starting tomorrow. If your really worried or concerned these answers arent helping talk to your doc. if you miss a day, its ok to take it with the current day pills. i have done it many times cause i have been to busy to take it. |
