What are the side effects of taking 3 birth control pills in one day?

Can it potentially mess up your menstrual cycle badly?

Why would you take 3 pills in a day anyway?
That said, you will likely not suffer any ill effects, other than potientially an upset stomach or nausea.
You need to use a back-up method of protection this month (like a condom) and continue to take your pills once a day. Once you begin a new pack you can go back to unprotected sex (if that's what you really want).
Next time, if you you miss a pill for more than two days; You can take two pills one day, and two pills the next and use back up contraception for the rest of the month, rather than trying to make yourself ill. Source(s): RN
