Starting the birth control pill in the middle of your cycle? |
I started the pill in the middle of my cycle. My period was supposed to have come yet but it hasn't. Could the pill have delayed my period to align with when I have to take the sugar pills ? Or did I skip a month or possibly be pregnant? I took a test but it came out negative. The pills totally overrides your natural cycle, and replaces it with the cycle controlled by the pills. You will have a withdrawal bleed when you take the sugar pills. It's normal to get some breakthrough mid-cycle bleeding during the first three months when starting any new birth control pill, and sometimes no bleeding at all. Yes, the pill contains horomones that could delay your period. At any rate, you should've followed the directions by starting the pill either on the first sunday or the first day of your period. Start a new pill pack when you do get your period and continue on from there, throw out the old pill pack without finishing it. I take birth control pills too. My doctor said its best to start a new pack of birth controls when you start your period. First of all you ar suppose to start it on the 5th. day of your cycle. Your gyn. should have told you this. You ar probably late becaus your cycle is messed up. Also remember you have to take them and have a period before you are protected. I am a nurse. Your period will follow as the pills will. You should have started taking them right after your period ended, but remember your period will come when the sugar thingys come. Been there. |
