Birth control pills after pregnancy?

I'm 30 weeks preg and when i give birth i want to brest feed i was wondering if i could take the pill could it hurt the baby. im having a boy i dont want him to have problems in the future. what did you use after you gave birth?

no pill while nursing! condoms or pulling out or being very careful or diaphram(spelling) work though.
For all methods of birth control that contain hormones, it is recommended that you wait until you have been nursing for 6 weeks or longer. This is to make sure that your milk supply is well established, since hormone-based methods can decrease your milk supply.

You can't use the normal pill. You can use an IUD which is inserted and can stay there for up to 5 years. Or there is a new form of birth control out that is inserted under the skin of your arm. Apparently only you can feel it if you press on it and no one else knows it's there. The problem with that one is your doctor has to have been trained in inserting it. There is a lot of room for error and you won't know if it is implanted correctly.
There is also a pill that, and I apologize because I am drawing a blank, the pill is either low in estrogen or progesterone that is safe for you to take. The only problem with that pill is it has to be taken at the SAME time every day and you only have a 10 min window of opportunity to take it in. Which I had a hard time doing that because you are so sleep deprived in the beginning that your sleep schedule is all off and I couldn't find a "Safe" time during the day to take it.

Also your obgyn will go over your options at your 6 week follow up.
Hope that helps
When I had my little boy I did tell my doctor that I was planning to breast feed. He gave me a different birth control pill than the one that I used before. It will be good for you to talk to your doctor I read that you should wait 6weeks first because of the milk supply and that the pill really don't harm babies but it's best for you to talk to your doctor so you and him/her can come up with a solution that will make you comfortable with for you and your child.
Definitely do not take any pills during your pregnancy or during your breastfeeding period because they are a lot of chance the pill to go to your baby too.

Do not worry it is nearly impossible to get pregnant in your breastfeeding period because you do not have a period.
The problem starts when you stop breastfeeding your baby, then is the MOST DANGEROUS period, but then you can start again the pills.

Good luck and do not panic
