Do birth control pills decrease the flow of your period? |
like i heard that they did but...i wasnt for sure...for girls who are on their period and they have a heavy flow does it minimize it?? Birth control pills work differently on different girls. Some girls find that it reduces their menstrual flow to a literal "period", and some say that it induces stomach cramps. You just have to know which one is the best for you to avoid side-effects. For instance, do you intend to use POP or combination pills? POP pills could give you decreased menstrual blood loss, but could also cause amenorrhea (absence of monthly period) for a certain period of time. At the same time, it could also cause even heavier bleeding. Choose your birth control pill wisely before you start taking any. Do some research or ask your doctor about it. Here's a helpful link: http://www.healthywomen.org/healthtopics... Hope this helps! yes they do it definately doesnt in fact ive found that it increases it althought it does reduce cramps No, in some cases it help to relieve cramping it does not however decrease your flow. If your on bc and your flow has decreased talk to your Dr. Yes..and you are not as crampy. There is a new one called YAZ thats suppose to shorten your period as well. Some birth control pills are meant to decrease your period and some are meant to just simply stop you from reproducing. It depends on which type you have. After a long time on a Birth Control, it is suppose to stop your period. But for some, it takes a while, whereas for others, it stops within a few months of starting a BC. For most women, it does minimize their period and reduces it to just a day or two of spotting |
